O ur limited yet thrilling time with Anthem has truly been exciting, buildng even more on our launch expectations. If I am being honest we so want this game to deliver, big time! What has been experienced with Anthem at E3 2018 and with the Alpha test build of the game, I can say with confidence Bioware is onto something quite special. Am I somewhat worried about the game, sure, while the first Destiny also painted this fantastic narrative picture atop compelling gunplay, we of course know how the first game ended up, with the games sequel doing most of the heavy lifting. Why the Destiny comparison? Anthem is cut from the same cooperative cloth, and how that fabric is innovatively woven together can potentially make all the difference. However, to the credit of Bioware and the key team members in place on Anthem, we are quite confident in their ability to deliver the goods. After all, they were responsible for the Mass Effect trilogy, including the wonderful Dragon Age series. Please note that Mass Effect Andromeda was not mentioned and for good reason. Regardless of the specifics associated with which team at Bioware constructed Mass Effect Andromeda, due to its lackluster experience, including EA's microtransaction debacle with Star War Battlefront II leaving an aweful taste in our mouths, concerns are lingering as the pressure is on to deliver with Anthem. There are a myriad of reasons to be excited for this latest 3rd person shooter – action RPG which rests within a contiguous open world. For starters shooter fans will be right at home with the games controls, as you can share with up to three other players in which they take the role of a Freelancer donning fully customizable exosuits called Javelins.
