Gallery259 Analogue Resistance Magazine Vol. 5 | Page 85

In Vol 4 I mentioned lith printing would be included in Vol 5, so here are some not shared in previous mags. I was wanting it to be more but haven't got to that space yet.

The lith printing process is one that fits with me in so many ways. I am not a fast worker and deliberately try to slow life down and my own chaos. I love the fact that I (as me) can't totally control the process and have no desire to do so. I am so not a detail oriented person, which doesn't mean details don't matter. There are so many variables with papers and chemicals. Experts can control these I know, I prefer to wing it.

I mostly use old papers and have some that will truly lith.

The few prints shown here were done back when Gallery259 was a working physical entity. I loved days (usually Saturdays and people were too busy being busy to look at art) when the door was open and no one called in and I had long periods in the darkroom.

My long overdue return to lith printing has been one of those abiding thirsts I live with. (one amidst the many)

Finding papers that will lith amidst my stash is easier said than done. I spend so much time trying to find things. Filing systems have a short lifespan with me; like 5 minutes. I am disorderly without the drunk.

Not being a perfectionist, (well not the ultra pedantic type at least) but into some kind of artistic excellence, I find lith printing very very beautiful .

Again I apologise for the lack of detail. Mostly LD20 devo and papers......some Ilford Multigrade Fibrebase and ...........the rest ....ummmmmm in the too hard basket.
