There is something about the immediacy and intimacy of exposing that one piece of paper, then the developing it and making changes to camera settings if needed.

I find it a lovely ritual.

On the road with a darkbox on the boot of my car, the ritual of one becomes more like the preparations for many, and a party back in the darkroom as the safebox is unloaded, and the fruit of your labours developed.

It's very tactile and intimate.

There is a lot of pleasure here.
