Gallery259 Analogue Resistance Magazine Vol. 2 | Page 7

In this 2nd Vol. of Analogue Resistance, Gallery259 publishes a variety of images by Graham Hughes. Again all images are emulsion based, analogue birthed, and digitally kissed. Some are film, some are silver gelatin paper negative prints, some are prints from pulling the emulsions off humble Wal Mart type positive prints (Harvey Norman in New Zealand and Oz). A silver gelatin paper negative is printed from the positive, then using that negative to make a darkroom print from.

These images were digitally birthed, but crossed over into an analogue life as prints. This is a process I would like to explore more and has huge potential. It makes an analogue life possible from digital births. And some of us have a gazillion digital images from past lives, having crossed over or blended the domains.

Gallery259 recognises the digital Da Vinci needed to publish, process and share images in this way. Once in another world it would be analogue from start to finish, and that is a dream for Gallery259. There is however no shame or discrepency in the Analogue Resistance vision in the using of digital in an analogue workflow. Ultimately Gallery259 is a real time gallery with real walls and light touching frames and illuminating prints.

This Vol. contains a selection of images, some from 2014 and some very recent productions.

Hope you enjoy some of them.
