Silver gelatin prints from Emulsion Lift Process.

I don't know anyone else who does it quite like this. One day it just seemed to happen via experimenting. The process starts with a positive, but could also begin with a negative/inverted print. The el cheapo print is soaked in warm water for a few minutes, then as the layers separate the emulsion is pulled from the backing. With care and a knife point you can separate the colour emulsion layer and gently pull it off the backing paper.

You are left with a thin onion skin like layer.

Originally I attached this to glass to make a negative, but in the end I just went straight into the darkroom and smoothed the emulsion still wet onto paper and exposed it under an enlarger as a light source - developed - dried then printed as per usual darkroom styles.

What draws me to this is the texture of the paper attached, the random fx in printing at all stages.

The first two images (pg 4 & 5) are examples as well as the next nine images.
