GAELIC SPORTS WORLD Issue 28 – June 20, 2015 | Page 45
This game was decided early in the second half when St.
Kiernans blasted two quick-fire goals into the Tir Chonaill
Gaels net. The first half was an evenly contested match with
the Gaels edging things by the minimum 0-5 to 0-4. Within
5 minutes of the restart, the two Kiernans goals arrived and
put the Gaels under pressure.
It then went back and forth for a while but nearing the end,
the Gaels did push hard but St. Kiernans managed to hold
out for a famous two point win 2-7 to 1-8. Taking the Tipperary Cup will give Kiernans confidence when the championship hits top gear.
