Georgia Law Enforcement Honored

Governor Nathan Deal addressed hundreds of law enforcement officers who came to the Capitol to be honored for their service to the citizens of Georgia. Georgia State Senate Resolution 1050 recognized March 2, 2016, as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Thirteen officers who were lost in the past year were recognized for their service to public safety and the citizens of Georgia. State Senator Tyler Harper (R-7th District) sponsored the resolution and emceed the event. State Senators David Shafer (R-48), Bill Cowsert (R-46), Steve Gooch and (R-51), Steve Henson (D-41), and State Representative Alan Powell (R-32) were among those who joined Harper in recognizing law enforcement. The State Board of Pardons and Paroles has 50 P.O.S.T. certified officers who work for the agency.
