Thurman Henderson was recently promoted to Special Executive Assistant to the Board. Henderson's service to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles has proven invaluable. He most recently served in the position of Assistant Director of Clemency. Thirty-two of his 40 plus years of state service have been spent in the criminal justice field. Henderson began working in Clemency in 1990 as a hearing examiner.

Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett says, "Mr. Henderson has provided outstanding service to the agency for many years. His wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of clemency, field operations, legal services and communications will be a tremendous asset to the Board in his new role.”

Chris Kimner recently graduated from the Corrections Leadership Institute (CLI). CLI is a year-long training program for those aspiring to move to mid and upper-level management positions. The course is sponsored by the Georgia Department of Corrections and delivered by the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Kimner is the Board's Director of Training, Investigations and Compliance.

Thurman Henderson Promoted to Special Executive Assistant to the Parole Board

Thurman Henderson is recognized for 40 years, yes four decades of state service! That's quite an accomplishment! Scott Reaves has been promoted as an Assistant Director of Clemency. Reaves was previously CONS program manager.

Reaves began his career with the Parole Board in 1989 as a parole officer. He was later promoted to hearing examiner in the Clemency Division and then to

senior hearing examiner. During May 2015, Reaves was selected to attend the National Parole Resource Center (NPRC) in Columbus, Ohio, to participate in the “Strategic Planning to Address the Challenges of Continuity Facing Paroling Authorities.”

Reaves serves as a guest lecturer at Georgia State University presenting an overview of the clemency process for students enrolled in corrections courses.

Reaves has a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Troy University where he graduated

Magna Cum Laude.

Linda Winston has been promoted to Pardon Administration Coordinator.
