analysis was “When you wake up do you immediately grab your phone? If yes why?” 9 people answered no and 12 people answered yes, the reasons varied. Some of them wanted to see the notifications that they received or some others because they have a snapchat streak. After analyzing the information, we believe that the majority of people that were interviewed have a strong necessity for social media, given that almost every single person had at least one source of social media that they used daily in an average of 2 hours a day and often stayed up late to look through social media for a couple of hours before going to bed which meant it interfered with their sleeping schedule. Some admitted that the very first thing they did when waking up is grab their phone to look at their notification from social media. This clearly shows how apparently social media controls us in many ways that we don't realize and how it has a negative impact in our lives. Looking at these results it is as if our lives revolved around social media instead of what really matters. Social media is all around the world affecting us in different ways but mostly, negatively. We could conclude that the misuse of social media can cause and impact on a daily life basis of an individual, arranging from a simple consequence such as a distraction, to more severe ones such as addictions. Furthermore, social media can be a problem in terms of privacy and security, increasing the cases of cyberbullying and harassment if the person does not know how to handle the problem properly. Overall, social media can be a useful tool to communication purposes, but the individual needs have the correct knowledge in order to know how to benefit from it instead of making a mistake that could lead to negative impacts.
