A MESSAGE FROM TRISHA CUNNINGHAM, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF NTFB Thank you for your collaboration. Every meal makes a difference! When I reflect on our progress in fiscal year 2017-2018, an important theme that is woven throughout this time is collaboration. Through expanded partnerships, program advancements, new volunteer initiatives and the conclusion of a historical capital campaign, key collaborations propelled our critical work to close the hunger gap in North Texas. Thank you for giving your time, your generous gifts and your heart to our mission – feeding our hungry neighbors. Together we provided access to almost 72 million nutritious meals throughout our 13-county service area. Each meal represents an exchange of compassion and hope – a community unifying to stop hunger. At the North Texas Food Bank, our dedicated staff and community partners continue to serve more food insecure children, seniors and families because of your collective support through various fundraising channels. When Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc on the Texas Coast, you worked alongside our Mass Care Task Force, and together we supplied more than 120,000 pounds of food to our fellow Texans impacted by this devastating storm. During the Stop Hunger Build Hope campaign, you invested in our local food assistance infrastructure and enabled the completion of our new distribution center, the Perot Family Campus. Unveiling this state-of-the-art facility was a significant highlight of our year, and embodies our commitment to empower the work of our partners, ensuring our collaborations are effectively meeting the diverse needs of all neighbors. Through the collaborative support of the North Texas community, we are well on our way to achieving our goal of providing access to 92 million nutritious meals annually by 2025. Our neighbors do not have to be hungry, children do not have to eat only on school days and seniors do not have to choose between medicine and food. We can close the hunger gap in North Texas, but it will take each of us extending our support and joining together to feed our hungry neighbors. Please continue to help us build this momentum, and remember, every meal makes a difference. Gratefully, NTFB works collaboratively with community partners who host our Mobile Pantry trucks, enabling NTFB to bring more nutritious foods to our neighbors in high-need, hard-to-reach areas throughout North Texas.
