FWYC Letter Log January 2014 | Page 4

Page 4 In Port Welcome Aboard New Members Happy New Year greetings to all! As I write this, of course, we’re in the midst of the holiday season and anticipating the New Year. I hope all of you have a happy holiday and best wishes as we start 2014. As we start 2014, we have a couple of ongoing projects that you may notice at the Club. We are awaiting delivery of a new water heater for the hot water service in the Club’s main bathrooms. The old one had rusted out and leaked profusely. The new water heater, an ondemand type, is a less expensive choice than a reservoir-type water heater, and should save money in long-term energy costs while supplying unlimited hot water for the bathrooms. The Club’s main gate was damaged beyond repair in 2013, so we are working to replace it. I hope to have some nice choices for the design of a new gate to present at the next FWYC Board of Directors meeting. I’m looking forward to the upcoming year as your Vice Commodore. I enjoy spending time at the Club and with our members, and I hope you do, too. We have a wonderful venue for activities on and off the water. Let’s take advantage of them and work together to make 2014 an enjoyable and successful year.
