Inducted into International
Commodores Association
To reiterate what was said last month :
We are very pleased and proud that Past
Commodore Phyllis Seaton has been selected to
receive
The Florida Commodores Association 4-Star Commodore Award
The award will be presented to her at a small
reception in January and then at the FWYC Change
of Watch and Awards Ceremony, Saturday 18
January.
The Chapter has elected and appointed its Officers
for 2014 and they are:
P/C Tom Reynolds, President
P/C Matt Loar, Vice President
Associate Carole Langford, Secretary/Treasurer
We have voted and worked with the Fleet Captain,
to make the FCA Regatta a two-day affair. Thanks
to P/C Phyllis Seaton for working hard to make this
project happen. The idea is to increase the fun, make
it a much bigger and better event and attract more
participants from the area.
For our Winter meeting, the Chapter won't have to
travel so far. It's going to be held at the St. Andrews
Bay Yacht Club 7 - 8 February 2014.
We wish the whole Club a Merry Christmas and a
Happy and Prosperous New Year. It will be a year
of consolidating and growing participation in our
Club. Let's all be there to make FWYC the place to
be in 2014.
Fort Walton Yacht Club’s 2013 Vice Commodore
Bobby Dewrell, Fleet Captain John Farris, P/C
Tom Reynolds, Lynne Reynolds, and June
Scroggin were inducted as Fellows of the
International Commodores Association on 23
November after completing training at the Academy
of Yachting Officers and Professionals in Fort
Pierce, FL. Bobby Dewrell is the new Commodore
for 2014, John Farris is the Treasurer, and June
Scroggin the Secretary for the new year.
The International Commodores Association
provides in-depth training to past and current
officers of yacht clubs and other yachting
organizations to preserve yachting traditions,
ceremonies, customs, ethics and etiquette as well as
to foster charitable and social programs for the
benefit of the yachting community.
