elcome to the first edition of Future Talent, our new
termly magazine for headteachers and careers leaders.
Our aim is to support an information exchange between
educators and employers, to help bring the world of
work to life for the next generation.
We are driven by a mission to create equality of opportunity for every
young person. To achieve this, we know we must prioritise world-class
support for educators. We’re committed to enhancing the CPD of educators
themselves, and will be providing diverse leadership perspectives from
inspiring public figures and global business schools.
The government’s 2017 careers strategy highlights the need to help
young people understand the range of opportunities and pathways into
employment that are available, as well as how to acquire the skills and
qualifications necessary to succeed in the workplaces of the future.
The aim of our Future Talent magazine is to support schools and
colleges to deliver the careers strategy, including meeting the Gatsby
Benchmarks that lie at the heart of it.
Inside, you’ll find five areas dedicated to ensuring that your careers
provision is truly aligned with future-proofing young people’s careers.
Each section – employability, routes into work, STEM, leadership and
wellbeing – includes practical resources, case studies and information from
a range of employers and thought leaders in the early careers space.

Between them, educators and employers hold the keys to the successful
transition of young people into meaningful employment. To maximise the
resources available through our Future Talent print and digital magazines,
website, live conferences and events, we’d love your feedback so that we
can hone them to meet the challenges of the future.
