TOLERABLE WORKDAYS In Finland law says that maximum time for a workday is 8 hours and for a week 40 hours. If you do overtime, you are paid for more money. You also have breaks during the workdays, for example lunchbreak. MATERNITY HOLIDAY When the maternity holiday begins, you get money from Kela for four months. It can begin 30-50 weekdays before the calculated time. You have had to belong to Finland’s social security at least 180 days. PARENTAL HOLIDAY Parental holiday begins after the maternity holiday. Also then, Kela gives you parental money about 6 months until the child is 9 months old. PARTICAL CARE ALLOWANCE If you have small schoolkids, you can do max. 30 hours of work per week and have partical care allowance from Kela. ACTIVE ENOUGH Not too long and not too rough workdays but still active working and good results.
