Future Me Report
On 8th of December, 28 students from Germany, Finland, Spain and Lithuania visited us at
our school for the”Future me” project. They stayed in Norway for 5 days and we did some
different activities like a trip to Oslo, Aker solutions and a disco. This was our week.
Monday:
Most of the students from the other countries arrived in Norway early this day. They met up
with their hosts and go to know Norway a little better than they knew from before. After
staying in some of our classes the school day ended and the hosts brought their guest back
home. We talked together that evening to get to know each other a little better before we met
up later with both the other students and the teacher for a bonfire in the woods. We ate hot
dogs and marshmallows and got to know both our own guests and the other hosts guests.
Tuesday:
The hosts brought their guests back to school for activities. We learned a typical Norwegian
dance and played some games to make us communicate. We brought our guests to meet our
friends and we had a good time. Later that evening we had free time with our guests and most
of the hosts brought their guests to Oslo or some other shopping mall while some other hosts
spent the time with their families.
Wednesday:
We woke up early to go to Oslo so we could get out tour at the Aker Solution Company. The
Future Me group got divided into two separate groups. The first group played a game with
iPods where they had to pretend they were engineers. The other group had to listen to a
presentation about your options if you choose a career as an engineer. We got a lot of
information and it was exciting. We also had a happening at Aker Solutions where one of the
students from Germany had a heart problem and one of the Norwegian students instantly
started CPR. He was transported to hospital right away. The mood was lowered a little by the
happening, but he got healthy again later and returned to Germany. We also had a disco that
evening/night and we danced, partied and had a lot of fun.
