MAKING A DIFFRENCE • QUITE A WHITE OU Kwaito Artist Quite a White Ou teaches Mlungus isiXhosa L ocal kwaito artist, Quite a White Ou, is hitting the SA scene in more ways than one. His aim: to help teach Mlungus to speak Xhosa and Zulu all over Mzantsi. His debut single Ndingumlungu, was released in 2013 and received licensing offers from SONY. His two new tracks, Haibo and Black is the New Black, are coming out later this year and his mission is stronger than ever. When he’s not jiving in isiXhosa, Quite a White Ou (or Craig Makhosi Charnock by day) runs UBuntu Bridge, a Language and Culture Training company based in Cape Town. Craig has kept his focus on the initial intention of Quite a White Ou – to inspire the youth to learn Xhosa and embrace the multi-culturalism of South Africa and the global society. Quite a White Ou teaches isiXhosa through his rap lyrics and is all about effective communication, having fun and being proudly South African.
