News Prioritising winter deliveries “O ver the next few months FPS members will be employing various methods to identify customers who they believe fall into the Cold Weather Priority (CWP) category, so that deliveries can be prioritised to these people during the winter months,” reported FPS chief executive, Guy Pulham. “Launched in 2017, CWP is an important industry initiative which played a key role earlier this year when the beast from the east brought heavy snow,” added Guy. “The FPS is urging members of the public who are 75+ and who use heating oil, to sign up to the Cold Weather Priority initiative. This will assist in identifying and helping those most at risk so they are prioritised for heating oil supplies throughout the winter months, especially during periods of extreme cold weather or fuel shortages. The CWP initiative has also received support from the Rt Hon Claire Perry MP, minister of state, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy who comments: “The last 12 months have shown the problems that severe conditions can cause and for those using heating oil and liquified petroleum gas to heat their homes this can be particularly challenging. The Cold Weather Priority Initiative is a welcome effort by industry to provide security and comfort to thousands of those most in need.” 2019 – new look off grid energy event W ith the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2019, next year’s FPS EXPO – then in its 39th year – will return to the Liverpool Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th May with a new look. “We have added in some new and exciting things to our show’s line- up,” said Guy Pulham. “Over the two days there will be a series of interactive panel sessions with speakers covering important topics pertinent to the off-grid sector.
