Fuel storage – safer and smarter
“INVESTING IN TANKS IS EXPENSIVE SO RATHER THAN TYING UP CAPITAL INVESTMENT, SOME COMPANIES ARE NOW ENJOYING
THE BENEFITS OF LEASING,” REPORTS REBECCA SWANN, PRODUCT MANAGER AT CERTAS ENERGY
Price is often the first consideration for
companies looking to invest in a new tank
but often what’s not taken into account
are all the health, safety and environmental
considerations surrounding choosing the right
storage solution.
Certas Energy now offers commercial
customers the option to lease their tanks and
spread the cost to allow them to have the tank
they need, rather than being restricted by what
they can afford.
A strategic partnership with Kingspan
Titan enables Certas to supply the Kingspan
DieselPRO range to commercial customers.
High-performance tanks with a minimum
100% bund capacity, their double-skinned
mild steel construction offers a totally enclosed
weatherproof durable storage solution in
accordance with current environmental
legislation.
A variety of steel bunded tanks ranging
from 5,000–62,000 litres in both rectangular
and cylindrical styles are available for leasing.
To offer improved security and eliminate
the need for manual measurements, the
DieselPRO tanks come with fully integrated
tank monitoring telemetry solutions and also
meets OFST200, BS799 part 5, OHSAS18001,
ISO14001 and ISO900.
Our OFTEC registered engineers offer on-
site surveys to support businesses in assessing
their fuel storage needs. Rather than just
acting as a fuel supplier, we pride ourselves on
providing customers with full fuel management
solutions to support safer, smarter fuel
handling and storage.
Data obtained by Certas Energy
from the Freedom of Information Act last
year revealed that in 2015 alone, some
£2,099,518 worth of fuel was stolen across
the UK. Commercial thefts accounted
for a significant proportion of the total –
£1,469,354.13 – with crimes being felt most
in Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire and
Hertfordshire.

“
“The tank market is reasonably buoyant.
Customers are requesting packages with a
full turnkey facility and more are looking at
integrating AdBlue tanks within a bunded
area with packages that include dispensing.
“We’re working closely with clients to
design installations that fulfil all their required
operational needs. In the retail sector we’re
doing more multiple tanks with stairways and
hand rails for top access where required.”
“
“Our tank market is positive; the opportunities are out there but the decision
making process to buy is taking longer than it did three years ago.
“Britain is still going and Western continues to supply tanks to the construction
and power generation markets where there are many projects – A14 and M6
upgrades, Hinckley Point, HS2 – all provide good work for people at this exhibition.
“We’re super sharp and diligent at following up leads and have a robust
system that ensures we do what we say we will do. Plus with the growing
importance of managing costs, we offer fuel management from the very basic to
the very sophisticated.”
