Reunited at Prince
AFTER A SEPARATION OF ALMOST 20 YEARS, PRINCE PETROLEUM HAS REUNITED ITS OFFICE AND DEPOT FUNCTION WITH
THE COMPLETION OF A NEW OFFICE BUILDING AT THE BROUGHTON LODGE DEPOT
The addition of a smart new office block with outside seating area has seen Prince Petroleum’s depot and office function together again after 20 years apart
“T
his has been a most
beneficial move,”
David Prince told
Fuel Oil News.
“In addition to our
established bulk business, this
move has brought additional local
business right into the depot and
has raised our profile within the
local agricultural community and
with other consumers.
Prince Petroleum has
also upgraded its fleet adding
MechTronic’s OptiMate system.
“We wanted a system to
avoid the incidence of product
contamination on vehicles that
operate daily with mixed product
grades. Typically making between
15–18 small deliveries a day
meaning that the incidence of
contamination while making line
changes remains a risk.
“Clearly, we are a business
with its own procedures to
manage this risk but, a system
that claims to remove that risk
completely must be of benefit
to the operator and, of course,
such a system also takes some
pressure off drivers which must be
welcome.”
“We’re delighted that Prince
Petroleum continues to work
with MechTronic and has added
OptiMate to their existing fleet,”
said MechTronic managing
director, Martyn Wilkie.
“We designed OptiMate
to help fuel oil operatives save
time, money and prevent fuel
contamination; it’s simple to
use and has several automatic
processes that offer our customers
complete peace of mind.
“The system automatically
empties the manifold, purges lines
and performs product returns.
Drivers can perform follow-on
line changes, without the need to
return to the vehicle and, with the
introduction of our self-draining
manifold a cleaner line change
is provided, preventing costly
contaminations.
“We value our relationship
with Prince Petroleum and are
pleased to support them in
delivering an excellent service.”
After dinner
magic
T
here was magic in the air at the annual
Phillips 66 IP Week dinner in February with
diners mesmerised by the amazing tricks
performed by the guest magician, Bruce Munton.
Taking place at the headquarters of the Royal
Aeronautical Society at No 4 Hamilton Place, a
somewhat bewitching Mayfair venue, where not only
is this Edwardian building listed, its bow windows
and baroque staircase are too!
Over dinner in a room with Louis XVI gilt
cornicing and sparkling chandeliers, Rory
Clarke (l), Rix Petroleum and Paul Vian,
