4. Commitment is Key.
Understanding the resources necessary to fully
engage in social media is perhaps the greatest
takeaway and biggest shock to a client’s bottom line.
It takes time to create content. And, even more time
to create network-specific content. There’s nothing
worse than the copy and paste approach to social
media. (See No. 2) It also takes time to engage
with users … posting an update to Facebook and
returning 24 hours later to reply is basically the kiss
of death. Social media is immediate. Users have
come to expect instant communication. And, instant
engagement requires resources – advise wisely.
