THE TECHNICAL MASTER PLAN

According to the Master Plan key changes needed to be made to get South Africa recognized as a top 20 contender in world football as well as top 3 in Africa.

One of the key changes was to standardize the concept of play for all South African national teams with 4 - 4 - 2 being the starting formation to teach young players starting to play

11 v 11 for the first time.

Another key change was to increase the amount of qualified coaches in the country with only 8164 and only 33 level three registered coaches in 2012. According to The Master Plan by 2022 at least 150000 qualified coaches are required.

To align all coaching courses offered by SAFA with CAF and UEFA and to rename the

licenses A,B and C instead of 1,2 and 3.

The Technical Master Plan also defines a structure for talent development on all levels which includes:

Establishment of 9 provincial academies

53 regional Centers of Excellence

311 Local Centers

Create a Technical Center to accommodate all national teams as well as facilitate the education of coaches

Another key change is to qualify for FIFA and continental competitions at all levels.
