Sophomore Brittany Harris began raising money as a third grader to build water
wells for a village in Malawi, Africa. Each year she bakes pies and cake balls to raise
the majority of funds over Thanksgiving, and also holds a Walk For Water in the
spring to raise additional funds. Over the past eight years, Brittany has raised more
than $185,000. To date, the money that has been raised has drilled 23 water wells,
and they are drilling 5 more this June.
