What is the FISD Education Foundation? The FISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Mission: To help students pursue unlimited potential; to support teachers for innovative and exemplary teaching; and to engage the community in assuring quality education for the leaders of tomorrow. Investment: • Awarded funds annually to teachers and campuses in FISD since its establishment in 1999. • Established an Endowment Fund now totaling more than $1,222,439 to assure the financial security of the foundation. • Awarded grants totaling more than $185,000 in 2017/18. Total grant distribution since inception: $1,684,601.96 HOW CAN I JOIN THE FEF? Volunteer Opportunities TOY This committee selects both the primary and secondary teachers of the year for FISD. They will then advance to the regional competition as representatives of the district.   MUSTANG ASSOCIATION Mustang Association is the student organizatio n established to provide an opportunity for current students to participate in the Friendswood Education Foundation Adopt-A-Grant program.   NEW EMPLOYEE LUNCHEON The new employee luncheon committee plans the annual luncheon to honor all new district employees. The event takes place in August in preparation for the start of a new school year. GALA The Gala committee is responsible for the planning and implementation of the foundation’s annual fundraiser to be held in February.   Thank you to all of our supporters 17
