Friendship across Cultures Vol. 1 | Page 9

It started with a simple letter and it immediately became a habit to talk to one another using the famous social networks, which made it all simpler and better, because the desire to know the person behind the letter was so great that we didn’t resist to start searching for our partner on the Internet.

THANK YOU ...

FROM THE HEART!

The possibilities are limitless if we only just think about it.

We think that because of these advantages, our teachers decided to give us the opportunity to make great friendships between cultures ...

But the best part was waiting for our letter because it takes some time to reach its destination and during that time we couldn’t stop asking the teacher if everything was alright, if the letters had already arrived in Morocco, if the letters had already arrived in Portugal, if the teacher had any news... We were so happy to do this exchange project, and we never got disappointed! In fact, it even exceeded our expectations!!!

Every time we received the letters, the teachers would make us read them in class and it was always a pleasure to see that on the other side there was also the concern to send an interesting letter to the new friend!

We are learning a lot from each other. In each new letter we learned more about each other’s roots, likes, hometown, the different festivities and celebrations in each country. And it is good to know the different cultures and, above all, respect and understand each other! It’s the only way to promote peace in the world!

It was perhaps one of the best projects we have ever participated in and we loved it, because although one of the limitations is the distance, it does not prevent us from creating bonds of friendship and affection that will remain forever in our hearts!

This whole project was only possible thanks to the initiative, commitment, support, guidance and above all dedication of the excellent teachers that we have, because it is a privilege to work with these fantastic people (teachers).

Although in these projects there may be communication issues, which is normal, because we are not talking to a person from the same country, in our case there was no problem: we talked about what we wanted without any hesitation and without any problems! Surely there were some difficult moments, but we always managed to understand what the other wanted to say and that is the most important, we think!

This project, although it was fun, giving us an opportunity to find at least one more friend from a different country and culture, was mainly educational! Although it started in the 1st term and people think that it's just been some months now, we already feel a huge complicity with our penfriends! From the first time that our teachers came to the classroom to present the idea, we were very anxious.
