Friendship across Cultures Vol. 1 | Page 56

Since December 2017, my colleague from Morocco and I have been exchanging letters, just like all my classmates. We have shared facts and curiosities about our cultures and customs, and got to know a lot about each other. I wrote about Portugal, my town (Carregal do Sal) and its uniqueness and she did the same with Morocco and her beautiful and interesting town of Fkih Ben Salah.

This experience has many great goals, one of them, in my understanding, is for young folks to understand that different cultures can have a lot in common even though they are distinct. This project has made me grow as a person. I learned what my dear colleague Rabab Boukhari does during holidays that are typically celebrated in her country, just like we celebrate Christmas. I got to know a lot about her family as well as her house.
