Friendship across Cultures Vol. 1 | Page 34

Today teenagers don't have many problems to get in touch with their peers because the social networks make it easier and faster. However, it is essential to speak English if you want to communicate with teenagers around the world.

This intercultural project was a great opportunity to talk with friends in Morocco and in Portugal. It was a great chance to know more about the traditions, location, religion and customs of both countries.

Besides that cultural sharing it was important to learn to respect each other, regardless of nationality or ways of thinking.

This project was very good for us, because it taught us how to get new friends, to know other people from other religions, and to know their traditions, customs and celebrations. This project has also helped us to improve our English skills and develop our cultural knowledge.

The whole project started with a letter exchange: we shared information about ourselves, our religions, our countries and landmarks.

We really liked to do all the required tasks, because it was a great way to know about a country with such a different culture.

After this project we fell that we are more aware of the cultural differences between our two countries. Understanding these differences is the way to respect other people.
