The Elderberries Programme

The Healthcare Project

The Health Project includes weekly Pilates and Yoga sessions for the over 55s . Our newly formed Friday morning Walking Group provides outdoor stimulus to help people keep fit and active as well as socialising over a cup of tea . Our monthly Clinic Café provides health related talks , tasters and consultations , and an opportunity to socialise in a warm friendly environment . The forthcoming Programme will welcome representatives from Northumberland County Blind Association , Patient Advice and Liaison Service in the North East and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf , to name just a few . Weekly Footcare appointments are also available to those requiring a pedicure .

The Social Project

The Social Project brings people together in order to learn , socialise and build friendships . The weekly Gentlemen ’ s Garden encourages Gentlemen to socialise , share old skills and learn new ones , while working on small allotment plots in the Roots and Shoots Garden . Our popular Tea Dances host an afternoon of live music , support from expert dancers and afternoon tea . The next Tea Dances are 24th May and 6th September . £ 12 per person .

The Blooming Well Project

The Blooming Well Project provides horticultural and wellbeing activities for those in the early stages of Dementia . In spring the Monday afternoon programme will offer a range of activities to include gardening , history talks , musical sessions , scrapbooking memories , silk painting , exploring the garden , board games , Easter decorations and baking . Throughout the year we hold our monthly ‘ Singing for The Brain ’ sessions . They are led by Malcolm Bennett from the Alzheimer ’ s Society . An event in April titled ‘ Moments in Time ’ is an opportunity for both those living with Dementia and their partners , family and friends to socialise and meet others in similar situations .
