The Entrepreneurship Project
Our Young Entrepreneurship project was delivered in partnership with Virgin Money ’ s ‘ Make £ 5 Grow ’ programme . We worked with local schools who produced items to sell at our Christmas market on 18th November . This was a great event to kick start our Christmas period with 186 children taking part and raising a profit of over £ 1000 between them !
The Employability Project
Our Employability Programme is available for any school or youth group . We provide activities for your young people to inspire and encourage them to start thinking about the world of work . We work in partnership with Barclays Life Skills to deliver a wholesome day long programme within The Garden .
The Work Experience Project
Our Work Experience project has seen an influx of applications this year - this is great news for The Alnwick Garden . It gives our departments the opportunity to mentor young , enthusiastic individuals , to nurture the skills they already have , develop new skills and increase their confidence . We have some great news to come towards the end of the year , with the possibility of our first apprenticeship on our maintenance team , due to the mentoring through our Work Experience Programme .
