about anything else. That’s why it’s so good – it’s raw and it just happens. We’re not thinking about how big and popular the series could get. We’re all just pumped on riding at the moment and its working. Is the progression of freeriding something you guys focus on pushing or is it kinda happening as a by-product of what you’re doing? Kyle: It’s funny because I think that has kind of happened unintentionally. Every time we build a course we feel like we need to have bigger jumps. We’re all thinking “man, these jumps are so fun, but now we want to go bigger”. Andreu: Yeah we’re just building and riding stuff that we want to ride and are pumped to ride. Maybe that means we’re going bigger than when we started, but I think it’s happening naturally, you know? Yeah for sure. With all the interest you’re getting, have any companies hit you up to sponsor the series and support what you’re doing? It’s not in our plan to just give it away for just a little bit of money or for no reason, you know? We’d rather keep it exclusive and for us. Kurt: Yeah, we don’t want to sell it for pennies. We don’t want to change what we’ve got just because someone wants to sponsor us with X amount of money. Kurt: We’re not competing with them, no. We’re happy with what we’ve got as we just want to do what we want. It just so happens that our event dates are around the same time as theirs, so it looks like we’re making it a conflict, but we’re just doing our own thing. Nick: The thing that pisses me off about FMB, is that they stand for Freeride Mountain Bike when they don’t have anything to do with freeride. Their entire series is slopestyle events. They need to rename themselves 82 | FreestyleXtreme.com £ Right: The boys get to work shaping one of the many incomprehensibly big booters found on the FEST Series.
