Red Bull Media House, in association with Freeride Entertainment, premiered the new documentary at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood late last year. According to Red Bull, over 400 motorcycle riders from SoCal cruised in and parked their bikes along Hollywood Boulevard to celebrate the follow-up to 1971’s Academy Award-nominated documentary, “On Any Sunday”, directed by Dana’s father, Bruce Brown, who also attended the premiere. 20 | FreestyleXtreme.com Stars from the film came out to see the movie for the first time, including action sports superstar Travis Pastrana, freestyle motocross pioneer Robbie Maddison, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb motorcycle champ Carlin Dunne, motocross legend Doug Henry, custom motorcycle designer and former racer Roland Sands and many more. Robbie Maddison built a custom motorcycle with a wheelchair ramp for his close friend, Chris Ackerman, to ride in with him to the premiere. He sustained numerous broken bones and a spinal cord injury that left him permanently paralyzed. This premiere was the first time Ackerman had been on a motorcycle since his accident. “Being able to get Chris back on a motorcycle and enjoy the freedom that riding bikes brings has been something weighing on my shoulders for some time,” commented Maddo. “Chris is family to me and I love him like a brother, and to have him be a part of the motorcycle convoy and ride into the premiere of ‘On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter’ is something he will never forget.” Shot in 4K Ultra HD, the film is a modern take on the 1971 classic “On Any Sunday”. The original film turned out to be a groundbreaking documentary, which transcended the sport and reached a wide audience with its engaging characters and heartfelt stories.
