go out there and give it everything I can . I did that at Nitro last week . I didn ’ t plan to do the Nac Double , but the riding is elevated so much , the level is so high that I didn ’ t want to leave anything on the table . I ’ m definitely not going to leave anything on the table for this round .
And that probably got you the gold medal at NWG . What sort of differences are there between competing at Nitro and here ?
The most different thing I think is , sure , Nitro has the cheater ramp , but Nitro is real freestyle . You get judged on what you do . I really like the way the judging system is .
I don ’ t agree with everything that ’ s in it , and probably not a lot of the riders agree on every score that every trick has , but I think the best part about it , is it ’ s pre-scored . You know exactly what ’ s happening before you go out there and that ’ s the best thing about it . Because you can actually sit down and work out your best possible run . So I do like that . X-Fighters has pushed forward and it is what it is , but the judging of Nitro World Games
is what draws me to that event .
Have you got a favourite out of the big three comps ?
Honestly , Nitro World Games , X-Fighters and X Games are all on the same level for me now . They all have positives and negatives about them . One thing that I really enjoy about Red Bull X-Fighters , compared to say Nitro World Games , is you ’ re on the clock . Nitro World Games you can kind of go around and you cruise . I like the fact that they score each jump there and then - that ’ s the way there ’ s no time limit . But I enjoy the pressure that the clock puts on you and everyone else . I ’ m still excited to go to each event .
