Changing teams, I also gained
some great experience. I was able
to improve myself, in terms of
the riding but also my technical
understanding and communication
with the team. That was part of the
reason we didn’t move too quickly
to MotoGP - even after the first
Moto2 title - because we knew how
difficult it could be to go there and
be competitive. So, after the 2nd
title, we (I say we because it’s my
coach and I) said now we are ready,
and we can prove it.
Are you still living and training in
France with your coach?
Yes, because I don’t earn enough
money yet, ha ha! But Avignon in the
South of France is my home, it is the
place where I do my physical training,
ride my bikes, all these things.
Do you ride off road as well?
No, Supermoto only, I love it and
for the MotoGP it is great training. I
rode the R6 a lot for training whilst in
Moto2. The R1 is not the best feeling
for me but the Supermoto is great! t
