X-FIGHTERS OSAKA runs that were practically flawless. Rémi Bizouard of France earned second-place honors - which was his best result ever at an X-Fighters event - with Dany Torres of Spain taking third. The crowd, which included Taiko drummers as well as fans in manga-style costumes, were able to get closer to the action than at any other stop in the series. A month or so before the X-Fighters rolled into town, all the Japanese riders battled it out, at the first round of the GOBIG FMX series Sherwood makes it two in a row in Japan (Check out our coverage on starting on page 52). This contest saw the top five riders progress to the Japanese wildcard qualifier at Osaka. The wildcard qualifying was held the day before the main event. It was Unit rider Kota Kugimura who won the chance to ride in front of his home crowd alongside Daisuke ‘Daice’ Suzuki in the main event.
