I’m not really the ‘third best’
in Japan, but I look forward to
getting on the bike and working
towards making all my goals real!”
Finishing second and still beating
the youngsters was the veteran
Bupper. “I think the only reason
I was able to get second at GO
BIG was because Kota Kugimura
made a mistake in his run. He
has better flip trick variations
and is really a better rider than
me. This year Gonta and Genki
have gotten much better, so I
practiced hard before GO BIG to
show that I am still growing as a
rider. At thirty-five I know I am not
going to suddenly improve but
I still want to become the best
rider I can. Rather than
do nothing and have the
young generation blow
£ A rad tribute to the
past me, I would feel
founder of GOBIG - the
better if I do all I can as a
late Eigo Sato
rider and then have them
go beyond me.”
Thanks to his smooth
style and huge bag of
tricks, including the
360, it was Daice who
took the top podium
once again. “I’m really
happy I was able to do
everything I was working
on over the winter here
at GO BIG. I’m now
working on new tricks for
Osaka and will be super
happy if I can make them
all work out.”
Now that GO BIG is
done, the top-qualifying
riders all have their sights
set firmly on the Red
Bull X-Fighters at Osaka
Castle. T
