When they thank me it’s an enormous pleasure and I’m very happy that my experience in FMX can make an important contribution towards developing new riders Yes, all of the young riders are trained by Da Boot and I think they should consider themselves very lucky to have the opportunity to use a park like this. In fact the riders who are putting in the effort are the ones achieving some great results and becoming stronger and stronger. My guys train every day and some even moved to Belluno so that they could train and be taught by me for almost two years. At the moment they still come here to ride, but then they return home where they continue to practice jumping. Let’s say eighty percent of the training is done at the Da Boot Superpark. What’s it like for you seeing all the guys progress their tricks and riding in your park? It’s a lovely experience seeing them grow, develop and achieve their dreams. Does the foam pit get used often? Yes the foam pit is used a lot, especially at the moment. I have a number of riders who are learning new tricks; mainly the Flip, but one of them is even working the Volt – he’s close! You’re one of only a few people to have a nice FMX quarter pipe set-up. What’s it like seeing different riders approach that feature for the first time? I’ve had the quarter pipe in my park since 2007, after I jumped at my first Red Bull X Fighters in Dublin where I first came across the quarter pipe. I returned u FreestyleXtreme | 29
