Our mate DJ BBQ has made it his presonal crusade to up everyone’s outdoor grilling game - and his new book is sure to revolutionise trackside campsites the world over. We sat him down for some choice tips. C HRISTIAN STEVENSON AKA DJ BBQ is quickly turning into something of a Grilling God! The Pit Boss from the US now resides in England, and is creating a smokey storm in the BBQ world. Christian has a long history in the world of action sports. From his early days of making snowboard films and presenting TV shows such as RAD and Freesports on 4, he can now be found MCing at the biggest snowboard, FMX, MX and skateboard events in the country, DJing at high profile parties for clients such as Bill ‘Microsoft’ Gates and doing voice overs for video games like Dirt 106 | FreestyleXtreme 18 | FreestyleXtreme amongst loads of other insanely cool projects. Lately his focus has shifted to his new role as DJ BBQ on Jamie Oliver’s Food Tube channel, where he makes the raddest cooking shows out there. Basically the phrase ‘fingers in pies’ doesn’t begin to do this guy justice. We tapped Christian up to find out a bit more about his passions for smoking and grilling, and even managed to get him to drop one of his sickest recipes of all time for us – his famous ‘Rad Rum Ribs’ - so make sure you try it out next time you fire up the grill! I smoke and grill in all conditions but sunnier climes are better for cold beer and I like pulling an ice cold bottle of beer out of the cooler when working the grill.
