Shortly after, a 45-minute open
Best Trick jam session gave
the riders the chance to throw
the sickest tricks they could
think of without the pressure of
competition. Some of the tricks
were incredibly complex; it really
is impressive how far this sport
has progressed. The Best Trick
award was given to Szymon
Godziek for his FMX inspired
Backflip Cliffhanger. The Polish
ripper took home an additional
1,000 Euros for his troubles.
Young gun and rising talent,
Nicholi Rogatkin (second place)
stuck a Triple Tailwhip and jaws hit
the ground again when Torquato
Testa nailed a Backflip Pendelum,
which placed him third.
This year’s Vienna Air King
provided a showcase for a whole
host of riders that have previously
been unseen at this level. It was
also notable that their level of
riding and the range of their
trick arsenals pushed some of
the more familiar names to new
heights. T
