The coffee houses offered a flash
back to the imperial grandiose of
the city’s past. Although not all the
names mentioned exactly had a
positive impact on the human race,
it was still interesting to learn about
Vienna’s history. And eat of course
eat some amazing cakes. I can
personally vouch for Sachertorte if
anyone needs recommendations. Post-show it was interview time, and
far from my nervous beginnings back
with Rob, everything went smoothly,
including long chats with Colton
Saterfield and Alastair Sayer. Both
had a lot to say and it was pretty
eye-opening to get their side of a
show I thought I was completely
familiar with. More from those in
future issues.
After wandering around the city
and almost becoming blind to
the breathtaking buildings and
sculptures, it was time for MoD. To cap off an unconventional few
days, as I sat down for the flight back
to the UK, I ended up next to a friend
I hadn’t seen for over three years!
What were the odds of that? It was
a surreal end to an amazing time in
Vienna.
Masters of Dirt has really become
a juggernaut in Austria. We saw
people queuing up to get MoD logos
tattooed pre-show and fighting over
merch. The main event is next-level
crazy with hundreds, maybe even
thousands, of backflips being pulled
