If you had to have a contest on those jumps it would be horrible , because it would definitely be windy at some point and you wouldn ’ t want your run .
That ’ s why we do it in our own time over a week - just go for an edit rather than a contest vibe , because none of us really want it and we can do what we want - so yeah , it ’ s perfect .
So you ’ re dictating the terms rather than sponsors ...
Yeah , but we always promise the sponsors there ’ s a edit at the end and some pictures and stuff and they ’ re hopefully happy .
So when you start to build the line , do you all get your heads together ? Is it quite a collaborative process or do you take the lead ?
It ’ s mainly , I guess , my ideas , or they respect completely my ideas , but then add their own little bit in and usually we all agree - so it ’ s never a problem I think . There ’ s not many people that can build jumps as good as these guys and I think we ’ ve agreed on every decision . It just makes you confident when you got to test them because everyone ’ s on the same page .
What was it like stood next to the Loop of Doom ?
Yeah , I saw the Loop for the first time which was pretty insane . I ’ d seen pictures , but seeing it in real life , of course , is completely different to anything else . But it actually looked way more ... from the pictures I thought , “ well that ’ s just the dumbest thing ”, but actually in real life it ’ s amazing . The build is incredible , it ’ s so smooth and so perfect - the shape and actually looked like really , really good .
Are you tempted to have a go ?
Nah , no one can do it - it ’ s Macduff ’ s thing for sure , but it looked a lot more doable than I though from pictures , yeah . From the pictures it looks like it ’ s gonna fall down but in real life it ’ s like , “ whoa , this is made of trees and stuff .” u
