you sometimes can ’ t help but poke and prod to start a fight . But I feel like people don ’ t have the right idea about relationships these days . They look at it , and if it ’ s not peachy all day every day it ’ s not right and they bail out instead of trying to work it out and understand each other .
Wise words . While you ’ re both also making separate progress in your respective careers , how do you balance that with your relationship ? when he needs help or support to do bigger and better things . We each have to take up the slack at different times .
How do you lay out goals ? Do they change at all ?
We always brainstorm ideas where we come up with the craziest , gnarliest stuff that we want to do - and then we ’ re thrown curveballs with different movies or opportunities like Monster Jam , so we have to run with it and making the most of every opportunity we can .
It ’ s definitely a lot of hard work as far as working together as Flair and

riding and I hope I ’ m the same for him
Yeah , for sure , but it ’ s one of those things – we ’ re working for ourselves so if we don ’ t work there ’ s no money coming in . We try and balance everything as much as we can , but if something needs to be done and it ’ s 5pm , we can ’ t just go home . It ’ s like “ Okay , we ’ ve got to stay here and do an all-nighter to get this finished by the morning ”, or we drive through the night to our next show . You ’ d be amazed at how little sleep you can run on sometimes .
On top of all the riding stuff I ’ ve got an earthmoving business working with excavators , bobcats , tractors and stuff to set ourselves up for a life after riding .
What advice could you give people wanting to pursue something similar to what you do ?
Work hard , don ’ t give up , and go the
extra mile for people . I ’ ve seen so many guys with so much incredible natural talent – far more than what I have – try and do similar things to what we do , but they don ’ t stick it out during the tough times .
It ’ s mentally and physically tough to keep pushing on , but it ’ s not always the best rider who succeeds – it ’ s the guy who ’ s 100 % dedicated and reliable . If someone wants you to ride a show , turn up on time , put in the extra effort , and if something crops up that ’ s outside of your job description , don ’ t stick your hand out for more money . Just do it . We always try and put in the extra effort and I think that helps create more and more opportunities for the future . T

You ’ ve got fingers in so many pies at the moment . How do you juggle everything ?
There ’ s no such thing as TV , no Xbox , so we basically work or sleep – and we usually run on a lack of sleep ! It ’ s not unusual for us to average four hours of sleep a night , so if we do happen to have any downtime we usually try and catch up on that .
That sounds like a pretty gnarly recipe for burn-out .
