Round 8 of the 2016 NotJ tour returned to the Latvian capital for the first time
in three years at a key point in the championship.
Two of the championship hopefuls, Spain’s Maikel Melero and France’s Rémi
Bizouard were returning from injury after crashing out in the last round, with
Rob Adelberg hoping to capitalise on any shakiness from the pair.
Bizouard seemed to be carrying injury worst of the two - with an unhealed
broken hand limiting his performance. Melero, however, looked unfazed and
made his way to a final round against Adelberg and Libor Podmol.
Adelberg was out first and put down an impressive run but was ultimately
surpassed by the Spaniard. Podmol was out last and put up a string fight but a
crash towards the end allowed Petr Pilat to snatch the third step of the podium.
