into the future. I just focus on my goals
one at a time and right now I just want
to get my knee better, and I’ll worry
about my performance levels and the
contest when they come around. But
it all leads towards the overall goals of
being able to do a better Slopestyle
run, learning new tricks and becoming
a more consistent rider.
Awesome. So what’s on the books
for this coming season?
So the next step is to do a few laps on
the snowboard and see how my knee
feels. I’m heading out to Breckenridge
in November, so the plan is to get
some good sessions in in Colorado
with a nice, knew knee hopefully! Then
from December, I should be back into
the contest season.

What top tips would you give any
budding pro snowboarders out
there?
I’ve always said that if jumps are what
you want to get into, then the more
time you spend in the air the better.
Get on a trampoline or down to your
local gymnastics club and just have fun
throwing yourself around. You really
start to learn important skills without
realizing it. So I think that can be really
valuable as long as you have fun,
whilst doing it. And also just try not to
structure your progression too much
when you’re young. Just mess about
with your mates and do whatever you
want to do. If you don’t do that you
risk making it a job too early.
Good stuff! Billy, thanks so much for
your time man.
Thank you and can I just say a big
thanks to all my sponsors who have
stuck by me through this knee injury.
They have all helped me out so much.
The lottery funding helped out with
a lot of my rehab and I want to say
thanks again to Red Bull for building
me that jump and of course my coach
Hamish McKnight, he’s the man! I
wouldn’t be where I am today without
you all. Thanks guys. T
