cat boarding/skiing tours across
10,000 acres of some of BC’s
finest backcountry powder fields.
Deep snow is pretty much guaranteed with
an average annual snowfall of around 14
meters! Retallack is renowned for being one
of the best heli/cat boarding locations in the
world. As such, it attracts a large amount of
pro skiers and snowboarders, who come to
get a big, fat powder fix and film their latest
video parts. The area also plays host to the
epic Red Bull Cold Rush event.
When spring comes around and the snow
melts, the playground transforms into a 1.5
million acre MTB dreamland, featuring a mix
of downhill singletrack, all-mountain/enduro
and freeride descents. As of 2011, Retallack
Lodge introduced the world’s first guided
backcountry mountain biking program, and
were able to offer their guests a ride truly
like no other. The build crew are constantly
developing new, epic trails, accessed via a
combination of helicopters, off-road shuttle
vans, and boats.
For the second year in a row, Kurt Sorge
hosted a round of the notorious Fest Series
at Retallack Lodge this summer. The 2015
Hoffest was simply insane, and saw the
guys absolutely boosting off some of the
nicest-looking MTB jumps, we’ve ever seen.
