LIBOR PODMOL sport for the communist society? We travel a lot during the year. Obviously we can’t take the family home with us, so it’s important to stay together when possible. When we lived in Spain it was pretty much like being at home in the Czech Republic, only way warmer. I try to spend as much time as I can with my family. When I’m away from them I miss them so much..but this is part of the game. Last year you went riding in California. How was that? Yes, I went to California because there was so much snow at my house it was impossible to ride. I’ve been there for two winters in the last two years. I went to Temecula, where this sport comes from, and only here can you do real freeriding. I love it. The first time I was there I stayed at Mike Metzger’s house, and the second time I rented an apartment, but it was much harder to find good places to ride. At the beginning I was in Phoenix with Jim Mcneil (RIP) where there was a big FMX park and you paid $10 per day to ride. Describe your training day at home... Usually I wake up early in the morning, I check my emails, then I use the gym in my house or sometimes I’ll go for a run. When I need to practice hard before a big event I go to the foampit from 9am to 11am, then I eat lunch and in the afternoon I’ll go training at my FMX park. In California all the FMX parks are private so you always need to call the rider, ask to ride there, wait for the right time etc and sometimes when you just want to ride that sucks. What music do you listen to when you go jogging? When I went running this winter I loved to listen to the “Rocky” theme tune, instrumental music, Nirvana... when I was in Spain I bought a cd by Adele on the beach (laughs) The second time I was there I had my family with me, and I spent more time there. The downside was I ended up having to travel a lot to Europe for events. All the flights started getting stressful so I decided to spend the next winter in Spain - way easier! Describe your day off... What’s a day off sorry?? Hahaa. When you have two kids it’s difficult to have a day off..but when I can I love to drive my Lancer Evo9 and ride my new Harley. u Yes I found you in Spain this winter with your family when I was with Andrè Villa..how do you try to link your work with your family? “ I went to Temecula, where this sport comes from, and only here can you do REAL freeriding.
