The website also features a useful question and answer section. Accommodation with private bath or shower unless specified, all meals on the ship, port charges and taxes. Balmoral, Boudicca, Black Watch & Braemar: Ship’s voltage is 110 volts – 60 cycle (a U.S. style 2-pin plug is required) and 220 volt–60 cycle (a Continental style 2-pin plug is required). To ensure your electrical appliances are safe to use, please check with Guest Services on board. Adapters can be hired on board, or can be bought at the shop. Any items of lost property should be registered with Guest Services on board, in the first instance. In the event you suffer a loss of prop- erty you should write to Fred. Olsen Customer Relations, Fred. Olsen House, White House Road, Ipswich, IP1 5LL on your return to the UK. Items of lost property are forwarded to this address where they will remain for three months waiting to be claimed. If unclaimed, we reserve the right to dispose of these items to approved charities. A minimum handling fee of £30 per item will be applied for the return of lost property. Securing Your Valuables Church Service Safety deposit boxes are available at Guest Services on Black Watch to safeguard valuables and important papers. We request a £5 de- posit, which is refunded at the end of your cruise. Arrangements can be made through Guest Services once on board. There is a lock- able drawer in each room on board Black Watch and a safe in each room on Boudicca and Braemar. All rooms on the Balmoral have an electric safe. After breakfast on Sundays during days at sea, a Senior Officer will lead prayers and readings. On Easter and Christmas cruises plus Grand Voyages, a member of the clergy will lead an interdenomi- national service. Voltage Room Service Menu A room service menu operates aboard all our ships between 10am and 10pm each day, offering light snacks (except during embarka- tion and disembarkation times). Beverages are available 24 hours a day. The menu will be in your room. Paying On Board The currency on board all ships is Sterling. A credit account system is operated on board allowing bar drinks, wine in the restaurants, laundry charges, Shore Tours bookings, purchases from the shops, any medical expenses and other incidental expenses to be auto- matically charged to your account. You will be required to pre- register a debit or credit card or supply a cash deposit at the start of your cruise. Failure to do so will result in your on board account being suspended. All on board accounts must be settled at the end of your cruise. The following credit cards are accepted:Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa. We also accept Visa debit cards but regret we are unable to accept American Express, Solo, Electron, travel agent debit cards or travellers’ cheque cards. Payments by credit card incur a 1.5% surcharge. No surcharge is applied to payment by debit card. Selected travellers’ cheques are accepted; please ask for more infor- mation before you cruise. Gratuities To make rewarding staff on board as straightforward as possible, gratuities are automatically added to your on board account at a level of £4.00 per passenger per day (applicable to adults and youths aged 12-17). This is divided equally between the Cabin Stewardess and Restaurant Waiter (and through them to other members of the team). This amount is not compulsory and can be varied at Guest Services on board; guests are welcome to tip per- sonally if they prefer. To assist with budgeting for your holiday, we are pleased to now offer the option of pre-paying your gratuities before you travel. Please ask at time of booking. SHIP SERVICES Laundry Services An excellent laundry and cleaning service is available on board all of our ships, along with an ironing room for passengers’ use. All ships also have a self-service launderette with washing machines and tumble dryers.A charge applies. Bathrobes Bathrobes are provided for guests who are booked in relevant Suite grades under our Suite Dreams package. Bathrobes are available to use on board for guests in other room grades, subject to avail- ability. A refundable deposit is required and a charge is made to cover laundry costs. Dance Hosts Hosts are available to ensure that our single passengers are never too long without a dance partner. On each of our ships there are usually four dance hosts available. Bureau De Change. All our ships operate an on board Bureau de Change, where major foreign currencies may be purchased or sold, subject to local currency restrictions. Exchange rates are competitive and there are no commission charges. For peace of mind, should guests wish to pre-purchase major currencies, or local currency not available on board, we would recommend using our foreign currency order service. Daily Times Each evening a Daily Times newsletter will be placed in your room, detailing events and timings for the following day. This will include time zone changes and dress code guidelines. Alcohol On Board Any alcohol brought on board from ashore (which includes any found at embarkation), must be handed to the ship’s staff for safe Shopping On Board The on board boutiques offer a wide range of products, from lux- ury items including jewellery, glassware and perfumes, to elegant eveningwear and casual day clothes. The on board shop stocks es- sential items such as camera film, sun cream, toiletries and various other necessities, as well as souvenirs and cruise mementoes. The shops will be closed in some ports due to customs regulations. Cigarettes and cigars are available to consume during your cruise via our Room Shopping Service. An order form and price list will be in your room – simply complete the form, hand it to Guest Services on board and your order will be delivered to your room. Please note smoking is only permitted in designated open deck areas and on room balconies (except Terrace Balconies). Duty Free (where applicable) Cigarettes, cigars and alcohol are available at tax-free prices for you to take home at the end of your cruise via our Room Shopping Service. An order form and price list will be in your room – simply complete the form, hand it to Guest Services on board and your order will be delivered to your room on the last day of your stay. It is your responsibility to observe customs regulations. Library All vessels have a well appointed library on board offering a wide variety of books, including some large print books. Gaming Tables There is a small gaming area on all four ships, where you can try your hand at Blackjack and Roulette. Please note that games of chance may not be charged back to your room account. Fitness Centre All four vessels have a fully-equipped Fitness Centre offering tread- mills, rowing machines, exercise bikes and a variety of free weights. A choice of fitness classes to suit most levels is available throughout the cruise, including yoga, aerobics, stretch & tone and pilates, conducted by fully qualified fitness instructors. A small charge is made for some classes. Additionally you may wish to ‘walk a mile’ (five times walking around the deck on Black Watch and Boudicca equals one mile) or swim a few lengths of the pool. You may then wish to relax in the sauna or steam room (there is no sauna or steam room on Balmoral). Please note that the Fitness Centres on both Black Watch and Boudicca are located on the Sun Deck, which is not served by a passenger lift. Guests will need to climb steps to access the fitness centre. Swimming Pools/Jacuzzis All vessels have heated pools and Jacuzzis. At times these may be closed for operational reasons, such as, but not limited to, cold/adverse weather or poor water quality. Since no lifeguards are on duty, guests use these facilities at their own risk. Booking Term & Conditions These terms and conditions should be read carefully. Cruise Abroad is acting as a distributor and reseller of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines only. Cruise Abroad is not act- ing as an agent for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Ltd. Your purchase is however, still subject to the terms in the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines worldwide brochure in addition to the following terms of Cruise Abroad. The Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines terms and conditions can also be viewed on their website; www.fredolsencruises.com/terms-and- conditions. These terms involve (amongst other detailed terms) requirements regarding insurance, medical, vacci- nation, passports and entry visas plus terms which by in- corporation of the Athens Conventions 1974 or otherwise, limits or excludes liability. Travel Documents All passengers must be in possession of a valid passport with no less than six months validity remaining at the completion of the cruise. Visas will be required on certain itineraries and you or your travel agent are responsible for obtaining all necessary documenta- tion. If a visa is required, final documents will not be sent out until Cruise Abroad has received a copy of the proper travel documents. Deposits and Payments (All prices in Australian Dollars) A non refundable deposit of 15% of the complete cruise cost and signed booking forms are required once services are confirmed for all bookings. The balance is due no later than 65 days prior to de- parture. If reservations are made within 65 days of departure, the entire amount is due at the time of confirmation. A rush fee of $50 per booking is applied to bookings made less than 30 days prior to departure. Some services may not be available with less than 30 days advance booking. Change and cancellation policies outlined below will apply after services are confirmed. Rates and Fares All rates featured in the brochure are in Australian Dollars. Cruise Abroad may withdraw or increase the prices in the 2019/20 bro- chure at any time. Changes and Cancellations Any changes made after booking acceptance will be subject to a $200 per person change fee. Changes made within 65 days of departure will result in a $200 per person change fee plus any as- sociated cost levied by the service provider. Cancellation penalties are as follows: 91 days or more (181 days or more for Long Cruises only) 15% of trip cost 180 days – 91 days (Long Cruises Only) 30% of trip cost 90-57 days 60% of trip cost 56-42 days 75% of trip cost 41-16 days 85% of trip cost Golf Nets 15 to 0 days 100% of trip cost You can practice your golf swing in the net(s) aboard Black Watch, Boudicca, Braemar and Balmoral. Please note that the golf net(s) on Black Watch, Boudicca and Braemar are not served by a passenger lift. Guests will therefore need to climb steps to access the golf net(s). All of the changes and cancellation fees are in addition to any airline enforced cancellation fees or other unrecoverable fees from suppliers. Airline tickets have their own cancellation and change penalties. No refund can be made for any tour accommodation, service or feature that you do not utilise or voluntarily change: if you cancel while the tour is in progress, there will be no refund for unused portions. Atlantis Spa and Salon Each Fred. Olsen ship has a well equipped beauty salon and spa: the Atlantis Spa and Fitness Centre. Open from 8am to 8pm daily, they offer a range of beauty and relaxation treatments, including massage, facials, manicures, pedicures and hairdressing. Demand for treatments is always high, so it is advised to book as soon as possible. Internet Service Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship, so you can check your e- mails or browse the web while at sea. Simply connect to the ships Wi-Fi signal, register for the service and choose the desired internet package, which will be charged directly to your on board account. Speak to Guest Services on board for further information and as- sistance. Please be aware that this service is operated over a satel- lite connection, therefore speeds are much slower than you would experience at home, and is subject to service operation. Travel Insurance All international guests must have fully comprehensive travel insur- ance valid from the date of deposit being made. We suggest you discuss with your travel agent the various insurance polices that are available. Policies can be purchased that provide protection in the event of trip cancellation, interruption, personal illness, injury, medical fees or damage to property. Verification of your travel in- surance policy will be required by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. NOTE: Cruise documents will not be released without completed insurance details on the Guest Information Form (to be completed in My Cruises). Without Insurance details, boarding may be denied and no refund will be paid. Guest Information Form It is a requirement that you fully complete this form as it contains mandatory immigration information and other relevant per- sonal travel details. The form must be completed before your cruise documentation can be dispatched to you. It is suggested that you complete your form online in the My Cruises section of the Fred. Olsen website. Documents Documents and shore excursion information will be sent to your travel agent approximately two weeks prior to departure. If re- quested; express mail/delivery charges will be an additional $20. Documents will not be sent out until final payment and a signed booking form have been received. Replacement documents are subject to a minimum $100 re-issue fee. Responsibility and Release of Liability As in the case of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Cruise Abroad acts only as a distributor and reseller for the contractors providing transpor- tation, accommodation or other services. All tickets and vouchers are issued subject to any and all terms and conditions under which transportation, accommodations and other services are offered or provided and constitute the sole contract between the supplier and the tour member. Cruise Abroad shall not be responsible in any way for loss, injury or damage arising from an Act of God, Acts of Governments or de facto authority, war, civil unrest, any kind of hostilities, strikes, theft, sickness, quarantine, immigration or customs regulations, hijacking, acts of terrorism, breakdown, delay, cancellation, error, omissions or any other cause beyond our control. Cruise Abroad reserves the right, without advance notice, to make changes or cancellations, in part or in whole, as circum- stances dictate; this may include changes in accommodation and/ or transportation and in the itinerary. Cruise Abroad is released of liability for consequences of personal activities of any passenger, who, as a consenting adult, is deemed personally responsible for decisions concerning conditions of health, safety, fitness for any activity in which the passenger participates. Cruise Abroad is not responsible for omissions in prices and programs. Any deposit paid for a package offered by Cruise Abroad shows acceptance and acknowledgement of prices, exclusions, conditions and responsibilities as stated above and releases Cruise Abroad and all of its agents and representatives from any and all liability, ac- tions, causes of actions, suits, debts, demands that you may have in connections with your participation in your overseas trip or activ- ity.
