Framing Media | Page 14

International  Media,  Where  do  they  really  stand?     Ever  since  the  25th  of  January  revolution  and  Egypt  has  been  one  of  the  top  rated   topics   in   national   and   international   news.   At   first   Egyptians   though   that   international   media   outlets   were   an   unbiased   source   of   information   that   presented   reliable   events   as   they   happen   without   any   hidden   agendas   or   backgrounds.   However,   through   out   the   past   four   years   a   lot   of   Egyptians   have   changed   their   minds   about   international   media   and   their  credibility.     Now,  and  especially  after  the  30th  of  June  revolution  a  lot  of   people   started   to   think   that   international   media   outlets   like   CNN   and   BBC   are   biased  towards  certain  agendas  that  serve  to  where  their  countries  political  view   or  in  relation  to  where  their  countries  stand  regarding  the  political  situation  in   Egypt.  One  strong  example  was  how  CNN  featured  what  happened  in  Egypt  as  a   military  coup  rather  than  a  second  revolution.     On   the   other   hand,   some   people   think   that   international   media   is   still   a   credible   source   and   they   only   show   what   is   really   going   on   both  sides  of  the  equation,  where  the  problem   lies   is   that   the   truth   could   be   unpleasing   for   some  people.       International  media  outlets  can  be  both  biased   or  neutral,  they  key  point  to  understand  where  any  media  outlet  really  stands  is   to   know   who   is   behind   this   media   outlet   and   what   agenda   they   follow,   this   is   how   anyone   could   understand   and   evaluate   the   information   received   through   any  media  outlet.
