The creativity, artistry and the hard-working people of fragrance are incredibly inspiring.” – Summer Johnson S ummer Johnson joined IFRANA at the beginning of the year as the new Director of Communications. She brings with her more than seventeen years in strategic messaging, from high-profile political issues and campaigns to building national brands for business at the consumer level. She hopes to champion a fresh and effective communications strategy for the industry. Johnson has led public affairs campaigns for both corporate clients and inside the political arena. Most recently she served in the role of Chief of Staff to the Mayor of one of the fastest growing cities in the Phoenix metro area, where she directed and managed the Mayor’s communications and policy agenda. In Washington, DC, she has served as spokesperson for elected officials on Capitol Hill, at the Republican National Committee and for national advocacy campaigns. Johnson has advised corporate and advocacy clients of all sizes in public relations f irms, including J2 Public Affairs, which she owned and operated. Her emphasis on results – motivating an audience to act - sets her apart from the pack. Her track record of successful audience engagement spans a multitude of industries, such as food, fitness, healthcare, public utilities, technology and transportation, and shows clear results including an increase in publicly-traded stock despite a high-profile crisis. She began her career in local television.
