B O A R D o f DIR E C T OR S Michel Mane Director “When I think about fragrance and the fragrance industry, what invariably comes to my mind is a nature inspired and emotionally charged piece of artistry and the wonderful people I have been blessed to know and work with.” I was born in Nice, France, and spent my childhood in Grasse in the middle of the jasmine and rose fields. Educated in Grasse, Paris and Rouen, I earned a chemical engineering degree and a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Duke University. I started my professional career in 1982 at Mane’s International Headquarters in France as a research chemist, was then trained as a Perfumer, and became Director of the Fragrance Division in 1989. My family and I moved to the U.S. in 1994 where I became President of the U.S. affiliate, and took the position of President of MANE Americas in 1999. Kenneth McAlister Director “Fragrances are created at the intersection of chemistry, art, nature, and emotion and they have the unique ability to deliver all of those things to anyone in a single sniff. The opportunity to provide that to someone is priceless to me.” I have been in the fragrance industry for 40 years and have served as the Director of Business Development at Intarome Fragrance Corporation for the past decade. I have a chemical engineering background and co-founded and ran Florachem Corporation for over 20 years. FRAGRANCENOTES.ORG 13
