MEETINGS & EVENTS 2018 Capitol Hill Perfumery Event WHAT DOES LOVE SMELL LIKE? On July 17, 2018, Fragrance Creators brought together legislators, staff, and the media for an interactive sensory experience with its annual Capitol Hill Perfumery Event. Renowned perfumers from fragrance companies—Arylessence, Bell Flavor & Fragrance, P&G, Robertet, and Takasago— created custom fragrances for the event, each centered around the theme of “Love,” emphasizing the role scent plays in our relationships, memories, and lives. In addition to many Congressional staffers, Reps. Sanford Bishop (GA-2), Karen Handel (GA-6), Barry Loudermilk (GA-11), and Carolyn Maloney (NY-12) were in attendance. Both Bishop and Maloney gave prepared remarks on the importance of the fragrance industry to creating jobs, stimulating innovation, and enhancing quality of life. The event came on the heels of the launch of the first-ever Congressional Fragrance Caucus, which is chaired by Loudermilk and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), earlier this year.
