Fragrance
Creators’ First
Summer
Intern:
Layla
Haqqanni
This summer, Fragrance Creators was joined by Layla
Haqqanni, a third year student at the University of San
Francisco, who served as a Summer Intern, supporting the
association’s social media content development. She also
participated in the association’s 2019 Federal Fly-In on May
15, 2019—her first time on Capitol Hill!
“At school, I am studying entrepreneurship and
innovation—two things that I know the fragrance industry
values,” said Haqqanni. “I have several years of experience
working in my family’s business, and I have always aspired to
start my own company one day. I truly believe businesses can
work with all stakeholders to lead policies that drive positive
change in the world. Having the opportunity to support the
Fragrance Creators team and participate in its fly-in meant the
world to me. I did a lot of listening and learning this summer
and am coming away from this experience with a better
understanding of how associations work to promote policies
for the good of all people.”
We wish Layla the best of luck in the new school year and
hope to see her on her next visit to Washington, D.C. FN
